Explosions at IRGC missile depots southwest of Tehran – Al Arabiya

  DEBKA

The explosions – reported by the Iranian Mehr News Agency west of Tehran and the cities of Garmdareh and Qods on Friday – were said by the Saudi-owned Al Arabiya to have occurred at missile deports belonging to the IRGC southwest of Tehran. Iranian expert Fabian Hinz suggested the blasts occurred at several sites including a chemical weapons research facility and other underground structures in the region. But he stressed that nothing is yet known for sure. DEBKAfile suggests that they were caused by a cyberattack.

Iranian Fars News agency denied any explosions and claimed there was an electricity cut in the suburbs west of Tehran. This incident follows half a dozen mysterious fires and blasts at various Iranian nuclear and missile sites located in different parts of the country since the last week of June.
